Looks: Marcine is a tall, slender woman, standing at 5'11. She has long, slightly wavy blonde hair that reaches her waist, and eyes that are a strange amber colour. Her skin is rather fair, and she often wears outfits that while... revealing and tight, allow her enough mobility for fighting.

Personality: Marcine is quiet and withdrawn; one could even say repressed. She's not much for smiling, and often appears to be rather detached from things going on around her. There are two notable exceptions to this: one is that, whenever she is around Ethne, she becomes more talkative and more 'active,' and even opens up a bit. The other is that she is a very devout follower of Freya, and tends to be very vocal about the fact, whenever the subject arises. She is also blunt and tactless, which only further serves to distance herself from the people around her. She has zero tolerance for bullshit, and has perfected a Death Glare.

Background: Marcine was the middle child of two normal, well-adjusted parents. Her baptism marked her as one destined to become a Star Gladiator, and off she went at the age of five to train, much like the others. She kept in rather close contact with her family, however, most notably her older brother. The two of them had a strange relationship, having petty fights often, but had always returned to being friends by the end of the day. Their relationship continued as such until she was fifteen. After one particularly nasty squabble, she flatly informed her brother that she wished he would drop dead... and her wish was granted. He was given to drinking, often in excess, and had [apparently] accidentally drowned himself in the bath.

This devastated her. Despite how often they argued, her brother was probably the person in her family that she cared the most for. The loss was a complete and total shock, and she completely withdrew, cutting all ties to her family despite the fact it was unnecessary. [She has not spoken to them since.] She threw herself completely into her training, setting herself apart from her peers in the process. A few years later, she was selected by Ethne to become the Sun Guardian, and now devotes herself entirely to that cause.

All the Cathedralites led a fairly happy existance, in a way, except for the part where Ethne [crystalsouls] knew there was a war that was going to start OHSHI. It was disturbing news, but a far off sort of things-- the more pressing issues were all the ruckus being caused, mostly in the forms of fights, and mostly due to Sei [blueststar]. Things got a bit complicated from there, for you see... Sei was extraordinarily similar to her brother.

Yeah, that implies everything you think it does. It was a minor detail that way back, she'd tutored the boy-- considering the age differences between them, and the unlikeliness of him becoming a Guardian, it hadn't really seemed important at the time.

Oh, but it was. After all, without this detail, there probably wouldn't have been any sort of spark between them, and this whole forbidden relationship business never would've happened.

They were fairly good at it, too! It was something they managed to keep going for weeks, as Ethne kept her mouth shut and both Sienna [kisudekoroshite] and Ciera [corporealist] did nothing about it, once they found out. Thus, life went on happily, or something like it, for Marcine. She had wish fulfillment [hi sei], a fantastic BFF [hi branwen ( incorporealist )], and easily beat down Lee [ghostgrin] in a pimping contest. [No, I don't get it either.]

Alas, with time, people's true feelings and intentions tend to be revealed, such as the fact that her Oracle and tonnes of others were all traitors what and sorry Sei, it's not you that she's in love with! Both of these things where very much the focal points of a very large and vocal fight between Sei and Marcine, and Mike [blazingmica] was witness to... well, some of it. Enough of it to get them brainwashed.

Strangely, it wasn't long after this brainwash that pimp contest number 2 !! occured, and Lee failed badly enough [complete with horribly shiny puppy eyes] that she might have slept with him a bit, thus cementing the fact that she's a total pedo argh. Err. Yeah.

Now, during this whole time, Ethne and a slew of others had been planning to escape the Cathedral. While she didn't agree with their reasons... her Oracle was more important than that, and Marcine worked to assist them. Alas, she elected to remain in the Cathedral, as the cause was not one she could support... she currently lives on there, and will continue to do so until the situation causes drama changes once again.
